Tangled by Moonlight Review: A Fast-Paced Wolf Shifter Romance

Tangled by Moonlight is perfect for fans of fast-paced, paranormal fantasy.  This wolf shifter romance offers fated mates, dual POV, a realistic age gap, a sexy older man, and some serious boundary-pushing.

Thrown straight into the deep-end from page one, I couldn’t fault the pacing, I was gripped from start to finish, and couldn’t put it down.

The connection between the main characters is undeniable; the main male character has everything you’re looking for in a mature book boyfriend (think silver fox—or should that be silver wolf), and the age gap isn’t hundreds of years, as we see in many other fantasy titles.

Romance aside, the cyberbullying subplot reflects what’s happening in the real world right now and is an eye-opener into the potential long-term psychological impact that technology such as AI and deepfakes can have on young minds when used maliciously.

If I had to be critical, I would say that there could have been a little more world-building. The story assumes the reader understands wolf-shifter culture: alphas, betas,  lunas, etc.

Verdict: 4/5

I thoroughly enjoyed Tangled by Moonlight and will be looking out for future instalments in the Fanged Fairytales series and for other titles from Kes Winter.

Image of the book cover: A stylised illustrated wolf stares forward from the centre of the cover, its fur rendered in glowing shades of blue and silver. Blue roses, snowflakes, and swirling foliage surround the wolf against a dark, moonlit background, with the title Tangled by Moonlight and the author name Kes Winter in decorative lettering.

This book was provided to me as an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
